Blue Moon Burgers

This is most definetly a Scavenger-unfriendly recipe. But if you do have access to the ingredients it will make for one amazing burger. I'll put my Makeshift Hostle Burger up here next time.

Whenever i go home for break i usually always make this for my family. I use Blue Moon Beer because when cooked into the meat it leave quite a nice bite, not to mention the orange peel and coriander in the beer really helps the meat stay soft and prevents over cooking.

Ingredients:

Ground Beef (whatever you like, i use sirloin from wholefoods)
Hamburger buns (Orowheat makes some great bread for burgers, Sara Lee as well)
1 bottle Blue Moon Beer (Honeymoon works well too, as well as any Hefieweizen)
1 Sweet Onion (Vadalia?)
1 bar Emmenthal Cheese (Gouda works as well)
1 head Butter Lettuce (it makes a big difference)
1 Roma tomato
Horseradish Sauce
Light Mayo
Deli Mustard (Gulden's Brown is my favorite)

Preparation:
Cut Onion into rings and soak in beer
Take Ground beef and toss it in as well.
Let sit for 15 minutes

Take beef and make patties of your desired thickness. (keep in mind they will shrink a little and plump up a bit) Make sure the patties are firm without any cracks otherwise they will fall apart when flipping.

Note: in order to get everything right, you'll need to coordinate everything. You need a grill or skillet cooking the burger patties, a pan with the onions and beer set to simmer on med-high heat. and then have the buns and cheese together to be put in a toaster oven so the cheese can melt over the burger buns.

Burger Patties:
Just set the grill to med-high, so it will cook through and through. then later switch to high.

Onions:
In a pan dump the beer onion mixture and set to med-high and let sizzle for bit until onions loose they're stiffness and become slightly golden. Once done then remove onions and discard excess beer.

Buns:
Do this step halfway through because it will finish before everything else and you dont want to be that idiot that burned your buns.

Take the cheese you've been guarding and make slices. Place on the bottom buns and along with the tops beside them toast them. Let the cheese start to sweat a little before taking them out.

Plating:
Now heres where everything comes together and your hard work pays off (or not, but still) Anyways. Take the bottom buns with the cheese and place a patty on top, followed by a few beer onions, then butter lettuce. Put your desired condiments on the top bun.

Stack, Squash, and Devour.

Total Cooking time is roughly 40 min.

Enjoy!
